Design & Grading Guide

Choosing a piece is not about finding the “best” option, but the one that fits you.

Our designs vary in structure and expression, while our bead grades reflect natural differences in material appearance. All pieces are made with natural crystals. What differs is how those materials look and feel, not their authenticity.

This guide is here to help you understand the differences, so you can choose with clarity and confidence.

Design Types

Minimal form, intentional material, and quiet balance—each piece is designed to feel refined, wearable, and unmistakably Liminéra.

Minimal
  • Concept
    Pure Tone.
Essential strands built around a single frequency of color. No added elements, no distractions.
  • Best for
Everyday wear, and those drawn to absolute simplicity.
  • Expression
Clean silhouettes with high saturation or perfect transparency. Timeless, calm, and quietly present.
Essential
  • Concept
    Internal Light.
Subtle variation within a restrained framework. The beauty lies not just in color, but in the depth held within the bead.
  • Best for
Those who want a touch of texture without visual weight.
  • Expression
Soft optical effects and natural textures. A shift from solid color to stones that shimmer, glow, or hold a quiet interior world.
Structured
  • Concept
    Rhythm & Order.
Design-led pieces shaped by structure. Whether it is a curated arrangement of colors or the natural geometric layers found inside the stone.
  • Best for
Wearers seeking stronger presence and specific energetic tuning.
  • Expression
Intentional composition. Chaos is tamed into pattern through deliberate contrast and layered repetition.
Statement
  • Concept
    The Apex.
Collector-level rarity. These pieces are defined by their scarcity and volume, selected from the highest tier of the mine.
  • Best for
Collectors, special occasions, and those drawn to exceptional materials.
  • Expression
Unapologetic clarity and scale. High-value materials presented with confidence, where quality takes center stage with minimal interference.

Bead Grade

How we evaluate

Our bead grading is based on visible material characteristics, not symbolism or metaphysical meaning.

Depending on the crystal type, one or more of the following aspects are considered:

  • Clarity & transparency
  • Cloudiness / cotton-like inclusions
  • Natural fractures & internal textures (ice cracks)
  • Color depth, saturation, and uniformity
  • Inclusions or features (such as phantoms, rutiles, cat’s-eye effects, etc.)
  • Overall consistency across beads in a single piece

Important note:

Natural crystals are formed by nature and almost always contain natural features such as inclusions, textures, or internal variations.

A perfectly flawless, completely pure crystal is typically artificial or lab-made.

Liminéra works exclusively with natural crystals, and our grading exists to help you understand what you may see before purchasing.

Collector’s
  • Typical characteristics (one or more may apply)
    - Exceptional clarity or transparency
    - Distinctive or rare visual features
    - Strong optical presence or standout texture
    - Beads that feel uncommon at first glance

  • What you may notice
Minor natural inclusions or subtle internal textures may still be present, but they do not detract from the overall clarity or visual impact
Premium
  • Typical characteristics (one or more may apply)
    - High clarity with a clean, refined appearance
    - Minimal cloudiness or well-balanced internal features
    - More saturated or evenly presented color
    - Clear and pleasing expression of the crystal’s natural character

  • What you may notice
Light natural textures, fine inclusions, or subtle internal lines that remain visually balanced
Selected
  • Typical characteristics (one or more may apply)
    - Moderate to good transparency, sometimes with a soft, natural haze
    - Visible inclusions or textures that remain harmonious overall
    - Natural color that may be lighter or less uniform than higher grades
    - For feature-based crystals, features are visible but not highly contrasted

  • What you may notice
Natural characteristics are present and noticeable, yet the overall look remains wearable and well-proportioned
Standard
  • Typical characteristics (one or more may apply)
    - Lower transparency or more noticeable cloudiness
    - Prominent internal textures, fractures, or structural lines
    - Lighter, uneven, or less pronounced coloration
    - Weaker contrast in feature-based crystals

  • What you may notice
A more organic, raw appearance that reflects the crystal’s natural formation
Imperfect
  • Typical characteristics (one or more may apply)
    - Strong cloudiness or overall opacity
    - Very light or subtle coloration (in some crystals, color may be difficult to perceive)
    - Features that are faint or barely visible in feature-based crystals
    - In rare cases, visible marks from drilling or finishing, such as small pits or more pronounced structural lines

  • What you may notice
    - Natural features are clearly visible and may dominate the appearance
    - These beads are selected intentionally and priced accordingly, without concealment

Final Note

Grading is not about turning natural crystals into something “perfect.”
It exists to help you choose between clarity, color, texture, and natural character, based on what you value most.
